Violet “Vi” Wilkinson Crowther Reese

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Violet “Vi†Wilkinson Crowther Reese, returned home to her Heavenly Father September 2, 2010.

She was born September 18, 1917 in Salt Lake City to Nellie Wilkinson Crowther and Ernest Crowther. Graduated from West High School in 1934.

Married Joseph Herbert Reese June 30, 1939 in Salt Lake. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 14, 1955. He passed away July 17,1977.

She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many different callings. She especially enjoyed directing music and took a conducting course from J. Spencer Cornwall who was the conductor of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Vi taught vocal lessons for more than 50 years and loved her students. She performed in Vaudeville as a comedian and singer. Vi dearly loved all animals.

Surviving are one daughter Sandra Jane (Larry) Plumhof of St. George, UT; three grandchildren, Samantha (Joshua) Holt of Herriman, UT, Amber (Connor) Shakespeare of Santa Clara, UT, Cody (Rachel) Plumhof of St. George, UT; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 6, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George.

Friends may call Sunday, September 5, 2010, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and also Monday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services, both held at the Mortuary.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT.
